Katie Accola, MA, LMFT
As a marriage and family therapist, I am passionate about working with clients to work through pain and resolve relationship conflicts that are disrupting their family system. I help my clients recapture their personal power by building upon their strengths and living within their values. I will work with you to better understand how your past experiences and primary attachment relationships paved the way for your ability to cope with stress and interpersonal difficulties. Together we will develop new, healthier ways to handle pain and advocate for your needs.
I believe in a person’s inherent capacity for growth, healing, and change and will help you discover how to adapt and thrive in your life. I create a safe and welcoming place for this to occur.
My professional expertise includes child therapy, parent-child relationship therapy, family therapy, as well as trauma and attachment therapies. I also provide treatment for intimate partners who have been impacted by infidelity. I draw upon tools from Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, sand tray therapy, and play therapy. In addition to my work with families, I have completed specialized training’s in counseling youth and families affected by head concussions and traumatic brain injuries, attachment issues and trauma.
