Whitney Davis

MS, EdS, LMHCA

Mental Health Counselor Associate
Relationship & Intimacy Specialist

Whitney is passionate about helping her clients heal and grow under the most difficult and painful life circumstances. She believes that no matter what brings you to therapy, having an empathic, compassionate and non-judgmental therapist can make all the difference in your journey to wellness. She believes in helping each of her clients by using a holistic lens that sees them for all of who they are- not just their diagnosis or presenting concern. Whitney makes it a priority to understand and honor each person’s unique experiences, perspectives, identities, and world view. She makes sure her clients feel heard, seen, and understood by using a warm and collaborative client-centered therapeutic approach.

Whitney enjoys working with both individuals and couples. She specializes in betrayal trauma work for partners hurt by infidelity, sexuality concerns, and chronic illness. Her other areas of focus include depression, anxiety, identity exploration, body image, women’s health, navigating difficult life transitions, trauma, and healthy communication/boundary setting. If you are looking to work towards healing in any aspect of your life, she would love to have the opportunity to support you.

Whitney understands the devastating impact of intimate betrayal and the toll it takes mentally and physically on a hurting partner. She knows the excessive rumination, vigilance, and intense range of emotions that follow once relational betrayal is discovered and can provide effective strategies to help you regain your sense of self in the aftermath. When working with hurting partners, Whitney uses the Posttraumatic Growth Model for Intimate Betrayal to help alleviate trauma symptoms, manage trauma triggers and reactions, calm obsessive thoughts, create emotional balance, heal core wounds that arise, move through the grief process, connect with your self-worth, and help you regain peace and stability in your life. Whitney uses the Gottman method and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy to help couples that are interested in deepening their relationship, rekindling intimacy, or repairing the painful damages of intimate betrayal. She meets each couple where they are and creates a path forward to meet their unique needs. She believes honesty, vulnerability, and helping couples make meaning over events that led to broken trust is critical to repairing the relationship. Whitney will help you grow individually and as a couple. She also helps individuals struggling with sexual concerns and offers supportive techniques to achieve sexual wellness.

Whitney has a special interest in working with individuals and couples where chronic pain or illness is a presenting concern. She understands how the cycle of pain and illness can impact a person across all aspects of life (physically, emotionally, professionally, and more), as well as greatly impact a person's relationships with the people they care about most. Chronic pain or illness may often go hand in hand with feelings of shame, guilt, grief, depression, anxiety, and result in a fractured sense of identity. In both individual and couple's cases where chronic pain or illness is involved, Whitney will work with you to co-create a holistic approach to treatment that instills hope, honors the mind-body connection, and takes measured, meaningful steps towards resolution of the social and emotional consequences of chronic pain and illness. She has extensive training in several empirical treatments including DBT, CBT and ACT. She is committed to meeting her clients where they are at in order to provide the best care possible.

Whitney works remotely to provide HIPAA-compliant telehealth sessions, which means you can attend private and secure sessions from the comfort of home. She is currently available to support clients who live in Washington.
