Dr. Vermeersch is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Washington who believes that therapy works best when it feels supportive, collaborative, and genuine. He knows that simply deciding to start therapy takes guts, and is a powerful first step toward change. His goal is to create a space where you can show up as yourself, without judgment and feel truly seen, heard, and understood.
Dr. Vermeersch believes that strong rapport and a trusting therapeutic relationship are the foundation of any meaningful work. He strives to meet clients where they are and to work together toward their goals, not his own. While therapy can and should feel supportive, he also believes that real growth often happens in moments of discomfort. He will work with you as you face those challenges and help you build the insight and skills needed to create lasting change.
Dr. Vermeersch provides therapy for both individuals and couples. He has extensive experience helping clients navigate anxiety, trauma, health-related challenges, and relationship concerns. He brings a particular passion for working with men, helping them explore self-understanding and connection in ways that feel authentic and grounded. His work is deeply informed by his background in health psychology and his understanding of how medical and physical challenges can impact emotional well-being, identity, and relationships.
In his work with couples, Dr. Vermeersch helps partners move away from the exhausting “who’s right and who’s wrong” cycle and instead focus on understanding each other more deeply. He believes that when relationships begin to feel stuck or painful, it’s often a sign of unmet needs rather than a lack of love. Dr. Vermeersch helps couples explore those needs in a constructive, nonjudgmental space while supporting them in building empathy, communicating more openly, and reconnecting with the shared sense of care that brought them together.
Dr. Vermeersch draws from several evidence-based approaches, and takes an integrative approach, tailoring treatment to fit each client’s personality, values, and goals. His sessions are collaborative, honest, and focused on helping you make meaningful progress toward the life and relationships you want.
Dr. Vermeersch earned his MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Loma Linda University. He is grateful every day to do work that he loves—helping people find understanding, courage, and connection both within themselves and in their relationships.
In his spare time, Dr. Vermeersch enjoys playing golf, pickleball and basketball, reading books and watching movies with his fiancé, hanging out with his dog and cat, and grabbing a bite at the nearest seafood place.
