Dr. Vermeersch is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Washington who believes that therapy works best when it feels supportive, collaborative, and genuine. Drawing from years of clinical experience, he approaches therapy with compassion, curiosity, and a practical focus on growth. He understands that choosing to begin therapy takes courage and represents an essential first step toward change.

Dr. Vermeersch provides therapy for individuals and couples, taking a collaborative and compassionate approach to exploring challenges and creating meaningful change. In his work with individuals, he helps clients gain clarity and deepen self-understanding while offering evidence-based tools for managing anxiety, trauma, and relationship difficulties. His areas of specialty also include sexual concerns, compulsive sexual behaviors, couples therapy, and health-related issues. Across all his work, his goal is to help clients move toward greater authenticity, resilience, and fulfillment in their lives and relationships.

In his work with couples, Dr. Vermeersch helps partners move beyond the exhausting “who’s right and who’s wrong” cycle to focus instead on understanding one another more deeply. He believes that when relationships begin to feel distant, stuck, or filled with conflict, it often reflects unmet emotional needs rather than a lack of love. With this in mind, Dr. Vermeersch helps couples explore those needs together and rebuild trust and connection. Through guided conversations and evidenced-based techniques, he helps partners communicate more openly, listen with empathy, and express their feelings in ways that foster understanding rather than defensiveness. His goal is to help couples rediscover their shared sense of care, compassion, and partnership while strengthening both their emotional and physical intimacy.

With a passion for supporting men’s mental health, Dr. Vermeersch helps clients develop greater emotional awareness and strengthen their connections with others, particularly in their relationships. He understands that men can sometimes experience unique pressures and expectations, and he strives to create a space where vulnerability and strength can coexist. Dr. Vermeersch also specializes in men’s sexual health and in addressing problematic or compulsive sexual behaviors. He helps clients address these struggles with openness and respect,  while offering evidenced-based tools and interventions that are effective for change.

Dr. Vermeersch draws from several evidence-based approaches, tailoring treatment to fit each client’s personality, values, and goals. His sessions are collaborative, honest, and focused on helping you make meaningful progress toward the life and relationships you want. He believes that strong rapport and a trusting therapeutic relationship are the foundation of any meaningful work. He strives to meet clients where they are and to work together toward their goals, not his own. While therapy can and should feel supportive, he also believes that real growth often happens in moments of discomfort. He will work with you as you face those challenges and help you build the insight and skills needed to create lasting change.
