With more than 15 years of experience, Kristin approaches relationships from a systems perspective and through the lens of the nervous system. She looks not only at the patterns happening between two people, but at how those patterns develop from the nervous system outward. We can know exactly how we want to respond to our partner and still find ourselves becoming defensive, shutting down, escalating, withdrawing, or trying to fix things before our thinking brain has had much of a chance to catch up.

Kristin helps individuals and couples understand what is happening underneath these moments. Her approach integrates Interpersonal Neurobiology from Dr. Dan Siegel’s Mindsight Institute, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, CBT, and Integrative Systemic Therapy to address relationship conflict, communication difficulties, breaks in trust, and recurring patterns of disconnection.

She has a particular passion for working with individuals and couples navigating ADHD, autism, OCD, anxiety, and other differences that can influence how each partner experiences a relationship. Differences in attention, sensory processing, emotional regulation, communication, or tolerance for uncertainty can easily be misinterpreted and lead to breakdowns in communication and connection. Kristin can help build new patterns that harbor connection and trust.

Her goal is not simply to help couples communicate better, but to help them understand the why behind their patterns. By practicing new ways of responding during moments that once triggered automatic reactions, couples can begin creating new expectations in the brain and nervous system. Kristin works with both individuals and couples and believes individual work can be a vital part of creating healthier relationships. Understanding our own needs, patterns, and nervous-system responses gives us the foundation to communicate those needs to others and change how we respond in moments of conflict and connection.

Kristin brings clinical, teaching, and research experience to her work. She has completed Level 1 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and Anxiety, and a certificate in Interpersonal Neurobiology. She spent three years as an adjunct professor in the Couples and Family Therapy program at Antioch University and volunteered as a researcher in the Brain Data and Causality Lab at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where her work explored cognition and emotion with a particular interest in adult ADHD. Kristin has also been featured as a speaker at the Washington Association of Marriage and Family Therapists on the topic of Navigating the Nervous System in Family Systems, and at the 2026 International OCD Foundation Conference in Seattle on the topic of Relationship Repair after OCD Treatment.
