Emily is a dedicated mental health counselor who works with individuals and couples to improve their relationships and navigate a variety of personal and emotional challenges. She adopts a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental approach to therapy, fostering an environment where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered. With a wealth of experience, Emily supports clients facing issues related to anxiety, depression, betrayal, trauma, sexual concerns, and relationship dynamics.

Understanding that life can throw heavy challenges our way, Emily is here to walk alongside you, offering steady guidance and support as you explore your feelings and make sense of your experiences. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in trauma-informed, evidence-based practices, allowing her clients to build resilience, enhance emotional regulation, and pursue meaningful, lasting change.

Emily is especially dedicated to supporting relationships, with a keen focus on attachment and relational work.  As a couples therapist, she helps clients explore the patterns and dynamics that influence their well-being and the health of their relationships. She understands that relationships can be complex and that challenges often feel overwhelming. Emily works with couples to reopen lines of communication, heal old wounds, and identify barriers to intimacy.

In addition, Emily specializes in intimacy and sex therapy, guiding individuals and couples through concerns such as differences in desire, sexual functioning, and communication around intimacy. She supports clients in fostering deeper emotional and physical connections, developing more fulfilling sexual relationships, and addressing patterns that may interfere with healthy, pleasurable intimacy. Her approach is compassionate and collaborative, emphasizing the importance of nurturing both sexual and physical intimacy for a thriving partnership.

Emily’s approach to therapy blends evidence-based practices such as DBT and CBT with elements of Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), attachment theory, and psychodynamic approaches. She specializes in working with adults facing relationship challenges, complex trauma, infidelity, OCD, eating disorders, anxiety, and mood disorders. Her practice is trauma-informed and proudly LGBTQIA++ friendly.

Infidelity & Betrayal Trauma

Emily is deeply committed to helping individuals and couples heal after the devastating pain of betrayal. She understands how disorienting it can feel when the foundation of trust is broken, leaving you questioning everything, including your relationship, your sense of self, and your future. Your mind may be stuck in overdrive, replaying what happened, trying to make sense of it all, while feelings of anxiety, grief, and self-doubt take over. Additional trauma symptoms can emerge and cause you to feel stuck in a constant state of vigilance, draining all your energy. The emotional toll can be exhausting, making it hard to see a way forward. You don’t have to navigate this pain alone. You deserve honesty and compassion to heal and rebuild your life. Emily provides a compassionate space for you to process your emotions, rebuild trust, and take steps toward healing. Using evidence-based techniques, she will guide you through the trauma, helping you regain a sense of stability, connection, and strength.

Perinatal, Postpartum & Fertility

Emily is also passionate about supporting individuals and couples struggling with perinatal challenges, postpartum anxiety or depression, infertility or pregnancy loss. She knows the anxious thoughts you are carrying, the pain of longing, the silent grief, the overwhelm, and the self-doubt that can come with this journey. The emotions you have including anxiety, frustration, fear, and even guilt are real and valid. She will provide a safe space where you can process these feelings without judgment. Through evidence-based therapy, mindfulness techniques, and a personalized approach, Emily will help you navigate the complexities of your feelings, ease any uncertainty, and support you through this life transition. Together, she will help you ease your emotional burden, rebuild your sense of self, and create hope and resilience, so you can move forward with strength and self-compassion.

Eating Disorders

Emily has extensive experience and a deep understanding of the challenges clients can face with food-related concerns and body image difficulties. She creates a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their relationship with food, body image, and self-worth. With a gentle approach, Emily works collaboratively with individuals to navigate the emotional and psychological challenges of recovery. Her goal is to empower clients to heal from within, fostering self-compassion, acceptance, and resilience along the way. Emily believes in the power of kindness, patience, and support as essential tools for transformation.
